The Cradle That Lets You Use Your Phone To Rock Your Baby

As a young parent of two kids, I am acutely aware of how hard it can be to get them to go to sleep sometimes. We try everything – music, rocking them in a rocking chair or in their car seat, walking up and down the hall with them, giving them a bottle, changing them, giving them a bath – and sometimes it seems like next to nothing works. We’ve found that a swing helps, but sometimes getting up to keep changing the settings can be a bit of a pain, especially if it’s in the wee hours of the morning and you’re half asleep. (I don’t know about you, but I’m not at my best at 2:00 in the morning). If you’re anything like me, though, and the cradle swing is sometimes your last resort, Fisher-Price is doing their best to help us out; they’ve created the new 4-in-1 Smart Connect Cradle ‘n Swing, and it’ll allow you to use your smartphone via a special app to rock/swing your baby from anywhere in the house. You don’t even have to be in the same room, which I admit is kind of neat and just a little scary at the same time.

From the comfort of your bed, you can choose the swing speed as well as the direction. You can also choose to play some soothing tunes and/or turn on a mobile. And, if the music doesn’t do the trick, you’re also able to set it to play some nature sounds.
Set to release later this fall, the 4-in-1 Smart Connect Cradle ‘n Swing will cost approximately $200. Is a good night’s sleep worth that much to you, or do you think the idea of a smart cradle is just a tad neglectful? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
