Local Motors, the company known for building cars with parts designs contributed by the community, wants to build a 3D printed electric vehicle.
It ran a competition in May of this year, requesting the community to
submit their designs for this project and finally a winner has been
picked. Local Motors has already started to print out models of the winning design and has even taken one for a spin.
Local Motors is hoping that it will be able to produce a fully working, 3D printed electric car but so far we’re not sure how much of the car will actually be 3D printed. Check out the gallery below to see the winning design and the runner-ups that almost made it.
